Professional Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is the oldest form of therapy; it is an entirely safe and natural state. We as humans naturally go into a state of hypnosis when we become fully absorbed or engrossed in everyday activities such as reading, watching movies or driving a familiar route.

A trance is a subjective internal experience and will vary from person to person because everyone is unique.

It is not mind control - I cannot make you do, say, believe or think anything which is contrary to your own values or morals.

Clients that come to see me have already identified that they have an issue that they want to be free from, they have unique and strong reasons why they want to make a change and are prepared to invest the time and energy to work on themselves.

They may have already tried to work things out for themselves or tried more traditional routes of therapy that have not worked for them, or have worked to a certain extent but there is still something that has been left unresolved.

For us to work together, I do ask for a commitment from clients that they are seeking profound and lasting change in their lives - and just to be clear the success of therapy with me does not depend on your ability to be hypnotised it depends on your 100% commitment to the change you want and making yourself a priority on a daily basis.

Hypnotherapy refers to the therapy which takes place whilst a client is in hypnosis. It is different from traditional talking therapies which work with the conscious mind.

I will be working with your unconscious mind. This is sometimes referred to as the emotional or feeling mind. It’s like a locked filing cabinet where all of your memories, beliefs and learning are stored.

In hypnosis we will find the key that unlocks the filing cabinet, and we will then be able access the resources that are needed to help you with your issue.

Results from hypnotherapy can be rapid because by accessing and utilising unconscious resources we can quickly find and treat the root cause of an issue. Learning that comes from accessing unconscious resources re-opens choices and options and is retained much longer so results can be life changing.

You don’t have to prepare for your session, you don’t have to do anything. Everything and anything you do in the session is what I want you to do. It’s all about us being in sync.

It will feel like we're just having a normal conversation, but you will be in a deep state of heightened inward focus, all the while you'll be aware of what you are doing and saying.

The result will be that you will come out of this with new resources that will not only help you with your current problem, but also help you to experience freedom, and choice that can be applied to all areas of your life.

Sessions online are as effective as face-to-face sessions. Indeed, clients have told me that they feel very comfortable being in their own home and having their session in their own familiar surroundings.

I will ask you to confirm that you have access to a stable internet connection and you are in a room where you won’t be disturbed for the duration of your session. I have a protocol for conducting online sessions which I will go through with you at the time of our consultation call.

For most issues I recommend between 1 and 4 sessions to obtain lasting results. It all depends on the nature and severity of your issue, and we will fully discuss and agree what your needs are.
